“I believe my work to be a natural successor to Abstract Expressionism: clearly the paintings embody the incendiary and explosive passion that truly IS ME… and those that have characterized the current American movement. When I paint… and in the solitude of my studio… I can feel the energy from my brush to the canvas… my mind processes the WHY… and it goes back to my life experiences…as can be expected. Trauma and healing, light and dark. I paint what I know: I paint what I feel." -Jumper Maybach

“ART IS THE SHADOW OF HUMANITY” – HENRY JAMES

Having endured emotional abuse, harassment, and marginalization throughout his own life because of his sexual orientation, Ben was able to find peace in his own transformation into Jumper Maybach in 2010 –– the same year he picked up a brush for the first time. Little did he know that brush would serve as a vehicle to not only to release his own trauma, but more importantly, to serve as a beacon of light advocating for universal love, unconditional acceptance, and the freedom to be who you are throughout the world. As Artistic Director of his own brand, it was imperative to him that the weight of his message remain consistent in the transfer from fine art to consumer products. Maybach has branded his life's work into wearable art in the form of apparel, accessories, and home products. Maybach's exclusive collection ranges from scarves and blankets to statement bags and eyewear to pillows and rugs, all of which express his unique artistic journey and share his message of advocacy and providing a voice for those who have been silenced by discrimination and bullying.

“Art is, has been, and always will be the chronicler of history. My Collectors have described a full range of emotions about the art itself, often remarking that it produces a powerful visceral reaction that never loses its impact. I also have been told that the messages inherent in the works are transparent in some of my Collections, yet other series provoke far more thought. This feeds my soul. And allows one to view the present and contemplate the future. That is the true impact of Art on Society. I imagined for myself a life in which understanding, acceptance, peace and the ultimate healthy transformation of an individual could be achieved. I envisioned my Artistic gift to be that beacon for society, and for societal betterment.

My art has allowed me to live my vision and for that I am beyond grateful.”
