Let’s Stop the Hateful Speech!

When millions of hearts begin to cheer for violence, it is more than politics — it is a spiritual crisis. Some call it demonic. I call it darkness trying to overshadow the light.

Scripture teaches that “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5). Yet in our world, falsehoods are spreading like wildfire, twisting truth until hate looks like courage, and violence feels like justice. This is deception at its worst.

But we are not helpless. In every generation, God raises up people of conscience to resist hatred with love, and lies with truth. We must be those people now.

First, we must stand for truth. Lies destroy. Truth heals. Supporting media literacy, fact-checking, and discernment isn’t just civic duty; it is a spiritual act of protecting hearts from corruption.

Second, we must embody peace. Anger is natural, but it must never become violence. Christ Himself said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9). Peacemaking means seeking reconciliation without excusing evil.

Third, we must walk in love. To call others “demonic” may capture our outrage, but we are called not to demonize people — rather to recognize the forces of hatred, fear, and deception that can take hold of them. Our battle is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12), but against those forces that twist human hearts away from God.

Finally, we must pray for courage. Courage to speak truth even when it’s unpopular. Courage to protect the vulnerable. Courage to believe that love still has the last word.

The times are heavy, but the answer is clear: love over hate, peace over violence, truth over lies. Darkness may shout loudly, but it cannot silence the light.

Let us commit ourselves, in faith and in action, to push back against violence with God’s love — for that is how hate finally disappears.
