A supernova is the most violent and luminous event in the known universe — the death of a massive star in a cataclysmic explosion that, for a brief moment, outshines entire galaxies. In that moment of destruction, something extraordinary happens: the star’s core collapses, and the resulting shockwave forges and disperses the heavy elements — iron, gold, uranium — that make planets, and life, possible. Every atom of gold that has ever existed was born in a supernova. We are, in the most literal sense, made of stardust from these ancient explosions.

Jumper’s Supernova is a painting about that paradox — the idea that the most destructive event in the cosmos is also the most generative.
